Stephanie Chou blends influences from her Chinese heritage with jazz/pop. Her band has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Joe’s Pub, and in festivals worldwide. They combine sax/vocals in Mandarin/English with Chinese violin and a rhythm section. An Irvington native, her album Asymptote focused on jazz reinventions of Chinese folk songs.

Heartwood is a world music ensemble influenced by many cultures. Our original songs combine the hauntingly beautiful and beguiling melodies of Native American-style and other world flutes with didgeridoo, guitar, ukulele, and other world percussion, including African drums, tubanos, handpans, dulcimer and frame drums.
