Jessica Zamek – vocals; Elizabeth Gerbi – accompanist

Soprano Jessica Zamek possesses a crystal-clear, full lyric voice praised for the complexity of its
harmonics and well-suited to roles such as Mimi (La bohème), Blanche Dubois (A Streetcar Named
Desire), Countess Almaviva (The Marriage of Figaro), and the title role in Susannah. Most recently, she
appeared as Madame Lidoine in The Dialogues of the Carmelites with the Midwest Opera Institute and as
the soprano soloist in Messiah with the Sherman Chamber Ensemble in Kent, CT. She also created the
role of Woman 2 in the world premiere of Tiange Zhou’s Smog at Pocket Opera.

Ms. Zamek’s repertoire include the title role in Manon, Despina in Così fan tutte, Susanna in The
Marriage of Figaro, and Carolina in Il matrimonio segreto. An accomplished recitalist artist, she regularly
concertizes throughout New England and Colorado. Most recently, she has been heard in a lecture
recital at Christ Episcopal Church in Poughkeepsie, NY, a concert of opera arias at St. Michael’s Chapel
in Kent, CT, and A Candlelight Vigil for Our Girls, a special event held in Smithtown, NY.

Ms. Zamek is a dedicated church musician since early childhood, serving as section leader, children’s
music director, and frequently as a soloist. She also frequently lends her voice at patriotic and
community events such as parades, homecomings, and occasions calling for the national anthem. Her
catalog includes an extensive repertoire of jazz, and she has fronted both big bands and combos.

As a producer and music director, Ms. Zamek’s most recent project was a concert titled “Ebb & Flow”
which combined six local organizations and centered on community, conversation and social justice.
Previous to that, she organized and directed a 10-day benefit concert in Rye for the flood victims in the
fall of 2021.

A native of Maine, Ms. Zamek earned her Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance from Western
Connecticut State University, where she studied with Dr. Margaret Astrup. She attended graduate
school at the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford and studied with Mary Mac and
Jerome Pruett. She is a veteran private voice teacher who works with students of all levels, an
experienced high school and middle school choir director and an early childhood music specialist. This
summer Ms. Zamek was the conductor of the senior vocal ensemble at Usdan Arts Program in NY.
Currently, she teaches privately and is touring New England with her solo vocal program titled “She
Said.”
